Plein Air Painting Workshops Summer 2025

THIRD HOUSE NATURE CENTER PRESENTS

PLEIN AIR PAINTING with BARBARA THOMAS

Barbara Thomas will lead our workshop, guiding students in the use of paint materials, setting up your painting, color mixing, principles of composition, light and shadow, creating distance, all the elements that go into creating a landscape painting.  

We will use gouache watercolor or oils. Students will bring their own materials and easels.  

Beginner to experienced. Ages 15 and up.                                                                                                                                         

Barbara Thomas has been painting all her life. She received her MFA at Lesley University, Cambridge,  MA. Barbara began landscape painting on Eastern Long Island in the 80’s and has taught painting at leading institutions on the East End and NYC for over 20 years.

$75 Per Session

Preregistration is required. Payment must be received prior to workshop.
